Keep it Simple: ON/OFF Wall Switch & Pull Chains
Looking for a basic set-up? A pull-chain operated Hunter Fan and single ON/OFF wall switch is likely all you need. This configuration allows you to turn your fan on and off by simply flipping the wall switch. To adjust your fan’s light, speed, and direction, a couple of gentle tugs on the pull chains will do the trick.
NOTE: An existing wall dimmer switch must be replaced with a single ON/OFF wall switch before installing your Hunter Fan to ensure consistent power flow from the switch to the fan.

A Little More Control: Wall & Remote Controls
Using a Hunter Fan wall or remote control is a great way to enhance the use of your pull chain fan. You can either purchase a pull chain fan along with a universal control system or simply purchase a fan that includes an integrated remote or wall control system.
NOTE: Be sure to purchase a compatible control system for your fan. Hunter control systems are well-suited for Hunter Fans but not for Hunter Original Fans. Similarly, Hunter Original control systems will not work with Hunter Fans.
A wall-mounted control system replaces your wall light switch and gives you the ability to control all of your fan’s functionality in one fixed place.
A handy universal remote control allows you to have the same control as the wall-mounted system, but with the freedom of making adjustments from up to 40’ away – including from your favorite reclining chair!
