If you notice that the same fan appears more than once in the HunterSMART™ app, or that it shows up in multiple rooms. This can make it seem like there are duplicate devices, even though you only have one fan installed.
Why This Happens
This usually occurs when a fan is set up more than once in the app. Common scenarios include:
· The fan was onboarded multiple times without removing the original setup.
· The HunterSMART™ app was deleted and reinstalled before the original fan setup was removed.
· During reinstall, the app could no longer access previous Apple Home™ IDs, which prevents older entries from being automatically merged.
When this happens, the app treats each setup as a separate fan, even though they all refer to the same physical device.
What You Can Do
To resolve this issue, remove the duplicate fan entries so only one remains:
1. Open the HunterSMART™ app.
2. Review each fan listed in your rooms.
3. Identify duplicate fans (they often have the same name or controls).
4. Remove the extra fan entries, leaving only one active fan.
If you are not sure which entry to keep, try controlling the fan (speed or light) from each listing. Keep the one that responds correctly and remove the others.
Helpful Tips
· Before reinstalling the HunterSMART™ app, always remove your fans from the app first.
· Give each fan a clear, unique name to help identify it during setup.
