Choosing the correct network frequency for your HunterSMART™ fan is important for proper setup. Hunter's HunterSMART™ WIFI fans work on a 2.4 GHz network.
If you get an unknown error or have Wi-Fi connectivity issues during pairing and set up, it’s likely because you are on the incorrect network. Every router is different, so check how to connect your specific router to your 2.4G network with these steps:
- Find your router’s model number.
- Search the internet for your router’ model number plus “disconnect from 5G” to find instructions.
Once you have verified your home network is on 2.4G, please proceed with pairing and setting up your fan.
Why 2.4 vs. 5.0?
The primary differences between 2.4G and 5G frequencies are the range (coverage) and bandwidth (speed) that the frequencies provide.
- The 5G network provides less coverage but transmits data at faster speeds – great for streaming videos and music.
