Room Measurements
Choosing the right fan size for your space is important to maximize not only the comfort level of your room, but also energy efficiency of your fan. If your fan is too small for the room, it won't move enough air to make you feel cool. If the fan is too big, it could move too much air even on a low setting. Use the table below as a guideline based on the square footage of your space:
For Rooms Up To: | Fan Blade Span: |
---|---|
100 sq. ft. | 30-48" |
400 sq. ft. | 50-54" |
400 sq. ft. or larger |
56"+

Ceiling Height
Once installed, your fan’s blades should ideally be 8’ above the floor. Installing your Hunter Fan at this height will ensure optimal efficiency. To accomplish this, you can purchase a low-profile fan for a room with lower ceilings or a fan with a downrod for a high-ceiling room.
NOTE: In order to meet UL and ETL guidelines, fan blades should be no less than 7’ from the floor and 30” from the blade tip to the nearest wall or obstruction.
